The Grade Threes are enjoying a busy and exciting second term. They are involved in a number of activities to do with the World Cup Soccer and the anticipation for this long-awaited event is mounting as the great day draws nearer.
The girls had a lot of fun making paper maché soccer balls which they then painted with different pictures and designs. As you can see from the photos, the end results were amazing!
Each pupil has also been very busy working on her own A to Z scrap-booking file, highlighting South Africa’s amazing variety of scenery, food, animals and products under every letter of the alphabet. Once these beautiful files are completed, they will be photographed and presented on our Apple Mac computers in a photo book format.
As a special Mothers’ Day surprise the girls made attractive beaded bracelets. They were proud of the end results.
Another activity we are also planning, is to design and paint our very own soccer T shirts.
Our school is hosting a wonderful Soccer Saturday in June, in which the girls will get into teams and play mini-matches. This promises to be an exciting and eventful day, with lots of soccer-related activities.
On the sporting front, the Grade Three girls have played their first netball matches ever, and this has been the source of much nervous excitement as well as the accompanying enjoyment of these competitive events.
We are looking forward to the rest of the term, which promises to be jam-packed with learning and many enjoyable challenges.
