Music
Our Grade 0 girls made their debut this term for none other than their Grandparents on Grandparents’ Day.  We sang a variety of songs from I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts to some of the hymns they have learnt.  A lovely day was had by all.

The Grade 6 and 7 Marimba groups played at the isiZulu Fireside Tales which took place at The Ridge School.  The orchestra joined us and we performed our own rendition of Pata Pata, which worked extremely well.  Everyone had a lot of fun.

Our two music concerts saw our girls showing off their skills with some new clarinettists, flute, piano, drums, violin, saxophone, vocalists, to name a few.  The girls are making excellent progress and this is apparent in the high standard of performance.  Thank you to our private music teachers who are dedicated and who bring out the best in our girls.

The Easter Assembly led by our Grade 7 girls was beautifully delivered and was enhanced with the use of slides depicting the Easter story.  It made Easter come alive.  The music was gentle and the girls sang well.

Finally, out Senior Choir performed at Singing Sistas held at St. Mary’s School in their magnificent new theatre complex, ‘The Edge’.  It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed listening to, and sharing the stage with Roedean, Kingsmead and St. Mary’s.  Well done on your wonderful singing, girls!

We look forward to the ‘Great Trek’ in the new term.  We cannot wait to inhabit the walls of the new Music Department.  Watch this space …

A blessed Easter to you all and safe travelling.

Yours musically
